RTPark Youth STEM Education Program: Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators

The RTPark Youth STEM Education Program is dedicated to empowering K-12 students in the U.S. Virgin Islands by providing them with immersive STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education. Our program seeks to ignite curiosity and foster a lifelong passion for STEM, ensuring that students gain the confidence and skills needed to excel in STEM careers. We enhance the existing STEM curriculum and offer enriching extracurricular activities, such as after-school programs and summer camps, designed to make learning both fun and impactful.

  • From building basic models to exploring advanced topics like biotechnology and computer programming, students engage in hands-on activities that promote critical thinking and innovation.

RTPark STEM Enrichment Summer Camp 2026

Join us this summer across St. Croix, St. Thomas, and now St. John for an exciting, hands-on STEM experience. Students will explore robotics, coding, and real-world problem-solving in a fun and engaging environment while building confidence, sparking curiosity, and connecting with a community of young innovators across the Virgin Islands.

1. Is there a cost to attend?

The RTPark Summer STEM Camp is completely free for all participants.

2. What is the RTPark Summer STEM Camp?

The RTPark Summer STEM Camp is a hands-on, engaging program where campers explore science, technology, engineering, and math through fun, culturally relevant activities. Campers participate in experiments, design challenges, coding, and creative projects aligned with real-world applications.

The camp is open to students entering:

Grades 3-8

4. Where is the camp located?

Camp is held at:

  • St. Thomas: 13D Innovation Center (UVI Campus)
  • St. John: Julius Sprauve Elementary School
  • St. Croix: RTPark Headquarters (UVI Campus)
5. What are the camp dates and duration?
  • Dates: June 15 - July 10
  • Duration: 4 weeks (Monday through Friday)
  • Holidays: Juneteenth (June 19, 2026) and Emancipation Day (July 3, 2026)
6. What are the daily camp hours?
  • Drop-off: Begins at 8:15 AM
  • Camp Hours: 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM
  • Pick-up: 2:30 PM - 2:45 PM
7. What will campers do each day?

Each day includes:

  • Outdoor STEM activities
  • Hands-on lab activities
  • Math enrichment
  • Creative projects (social-emotional learning)
  • A long-term design challenge
  • Team-building games and reflection
8. Is prior STEM experience required?

No prior experience is needed. The program is designed for beginners and builds skills through guided, hands-on learning.

9. What should campers bring each day?

Campers should bring:

  • Water bottle
  • Comfortable clothing and sneakers
  • A positive attitude and readiness to learn
10. Are meals or snacks provided?

Lunch is provided daily.
Parents/guardians are welcome to send campers with their own meals if preferred.

11. Is transportation provided?
  • Transportation to and from camp is not provided.
  • Transportation for field trips will be provided.
12. How are campers grouped?

Campers are grouped by grade level, with approximately 20 campers per group.

13. What safety measures are in place?
  • Supervised activities at all times
  • Structured daily schedule
  • Emergency contact information collected during registration
  • Designated pick-up procedures
14. Can my camper have accommodations?

Yes. We encourage families to share any modifications or accommodations during registration to help ensure a positive experience for every camper.

15. Will photos or videos be taken?

Yes. Photos and videos may be taken for educational and promotional purposes. By registering, parents/guardians grant permission for media use.

16. How do I register?

STEM After School—Now in Every K–8 Public School

We’re proud to share that the STEM Enrichment After-School Program is now available in all K–8 public schools across the Virgin Islands. This milestone means that every child in the public school system has the opportunity to experience the UVI RTPark STEM Enrichment curriculum—bringing robotics, coding, and hands-on creativity directly into their learning journey.

Parents and teachers can now ensure that students don’t miss out on this unique chance to explore innovation and problem-solving beyond the regular school day. The program is designed to boost confidence, spark curiosity, and prepare Virgin Islands youth with skills for the future.
